Qinzhou Nixing Pottery in Guangxi is one of the four famous ceramics in China. In 2008, Nixing Pottery firing technology has been listed in the representative list of China's intangible cultural heritage. The main teaching groups of Nixing Pottery related courses in universities are full-time undergraduates majoring in fine arts, design and ethnology. It is hoped that students can get to know the Nixing Pottery making method which has the charm of kiln transformation, and also discuss the aesthetic appreciation of Nixing Pottery together.

The course overview

 

 

Nixing pottery is one of the four famous ceramics in China. In 2008, Nixing pottery firing technology has been included in the representative list of China's intangible cultural heritage. This course has Guangxi characteristics, the application of the course can play a propaganda role and promote the popularization of local handicrafts. The construction course is divided into two parts: production and appreciation. The content is taught step by step from the shallow to the deep. In addition to cultivating students' practical ability and creative thinking, the students' ability to appreciate and appreciate Nixing Pottery, a national handicraft with Guangxi characteristics, will be improved. In 2018, the course has been online on campus, providing online teaching for the ceramic art course of our school's fine arts and design majors. This course has been gradually modified and mature, and upgraded to MOOC in 2019, which is open to the public teaching and meeting with everyone. It is hoped that it can not only play the role of developing national handicrafts, but also play a certain role in promoting the development of local characteristic crafts, culture and economy.

 

Teaching goal

 

 

Course knowledge objectives: through course learning, enable students to master the basic knowledge of pottery, including the ability of design methods, means and comprehensive application; Mastering the application knowledge and practical skills of ceramic art in design work.

Objectives: Through theoretical learning and skill training, students' practical skills will be constantly strengthened, their good hands-on habits, self-learning and innovation ability will be cultivated, and their design level and production efficiency will be improved, so that students will be equipped with skills required for vocational posts.

Course Attitude Objectives: Through heuristic teaching, the experience type teaching, case teaching, promote teaching, group training, design, project driven teaching practice teaching, such as on-site experience from the communication skills, team cooperation ability, ability, the aspects such as learning and self development ability, cultivate engaged in ceramic art design industry should have professional attitude, professional quality and professional general ability.

Employment objective: to train comprehensive, high quality and practical professional skills for related design enterprises.

The certificate request

 

 

(1) There are 45 hours of teaching content in this course. You need to watch all the videos and complete the weekly test within the prescribed time. Completion of two exams will be included in the course's total score;

 

(2) You must complete 2 exams (to be published in Week 7), submit them at the 30th credit hour, and then evaluate each other with 5 or more peers. If you do not evaluate each other or if you do not evaluate each other with 5, you will be penalized, and your exam score will be counted towards 80% of your course grade.

 

(3) Two test scores, plus extra points, will be your final score for this course. 60 marks as qualified, 80 marks as excellent; Students who are qualified and outstanding can apply for the certification certificate according to their actual needs. The fee for the certification certificate is 100 yuan per person. The platform does not offer free certificates.

 

(4) Special bonus points. 1: The system only counts The Times of replying to topic posts in the classroom communication area. Full marks for replying 50 times or more will not be scored for comments. Special bonus points will be awarded if you introduce yourself in the forum/discussion area, share your work or study experience and your intention to study in the course, and actively respond to other learners.

 

(5) Special bonus points. 2: You will be required to complete the unit tests at the end of each chapter, and your test scores will count toward 10% of your total score.

 

(6) About two weeks after the end of the course, the MOOC platform of the university will remind the students in need to apply for the certificate in the form of an announcement. The specific requirements and time nodes regarding certificates shall be subject to the information released by MOOC platform of Chinese universities;

 

(7) Learners shall be responsible for their own learning behavior and ensure that the learning, testing and homework are completed by the registrant himself. Once the learner is found to be dishonest, we have the right to cancel the learner's score.
