Nerikomi is a kind of pottery made of colored clay with patterns. In order to create a specific pattern, two or more colored clays are often stacked in a precise manner and shaped by slicing sheets across a cross section, followed by a layer of transparent glaze. Because the mud billet wring and kneading way is different, the texture change is infinite. Thus, the patterns created by Nerikomi are different from those glazed or painted on the surface. With its unique texture structure and color changes, it has become a school of its own among the ceramic products and has become the outstanding one among all kinds of porcelain.
